Thursday, 3/17 & Friday, 3/18 5:30 - 8:30
Two tastings this week! First, on St. Patrick's Day, we'll celebrate with Lieutenant Lord Kinahan's Irish Whiskey, a lost Dublin recipe that was the favorite of legendary bartender Jerry Thomas. The new Kinahan's weighs in at 92 proof, but wears that fiery spirit wrapped in a cloak of smooth, buttery goodness. Not a bad metaphor for Ireland itself!
On Friday we'll have a visit from Indie Wines. This feisty importer specializes in organic and biodynamically produced wines. We'll sample an Anjou Chenin blanc from Pithon-Paille. It's a shining gold wine with mellowed orchard notes and a savory finish. Also on offer is a red from Italy. Fattoria San Lorenzo's rosso piceno is a blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes from a family operation in La Marche. Come try some alternative vinos!
